We can’t say per person but can compare with legacy. I have seen people go to their graves like that and there is NOT one definition for “spoiled” either – this I have witnessed occur with children thru adults also. It becomes seriously habit forming.

Paris is already leading a meaningful life. She’s a model for others how not to behave. Hopefully, with some serious consequences to her recklessness, she’ll change her ways and find a real purpose for her life.

The fact that the all mighty $ will never truly be appreciated should tell you that she will never learn. She will always be monetarily rich and NEVER have to worry where her next anything will come from. That’s sad to me because if it weren’t for “Hilton”, it would be just another day in PARISdise

Once she discovers what excites her passion and wielding the Hilton name to the enrichment of said passion she will be just fine. There could be some family historian she could consult to help her understand what the ‘heart-ful’ women in her family have done so she may have a better idea of where her own passions are embedded. Hopefully she may find her muse.

Her parents gave it all to her, and I believed they love her allot in theire way. What happen to her along the way was “lime light”
It is fun to be in the papers it is fun to have people yelling your name. Thus she got carried away…
Read about others who went thou this stuff in the young 20’s and you will see they have turned away form the “lime light” in the 30″s and 40″s They become aware of the their life and want it normal anything but vacant or shallow so I believe she will become a a great person someday she after the press goes away…

Her life is meaningful. She serves as a bad example.

I suppose we can always hope. I have seen people coming from backgrounds where they are expected to turn out someway and surprise everyone but turning out totally different. I certainly think being really spoilt disadvantages a child though and it is almost a form of child abuse. However I also believe that being spoilt is not a guarantee of behaviour like what Paris exhibits. I dont think Paris will ever change because she doesnt want to as she is famous and rich, what more could a person want? I think a lot more!

If she was born with this thing called “common sence” then she may have had a chance. But once your mind turns to much like that… you’re stuck.

No it’s not, people like her is what is wrong with this country, way too spoiled people who feel like cause they can show some $ means they’re better than everyone else, unfortunely, money does make the world go round though, the American media is so obsessed with celebrities that a top story on Yahoo News was Paris Hilton is getting out of jail early. celebrities getting special treatment is disgusting. She did a crime, she needs to stay in jail for the full sentence she had. I feel sorry for all the people that have to deal with her on a normal basis.
Wildman on Tue, 1st Dec 2009 10:48 am
It’s possible i suppose, but very unlikely that she will ever choose to spend her time or money making the world a better place for those less fortunate then herself. We’ll see of course, you never know, maybe she’ll be the driving force behind a new prison reform bill. Or she may start to do some charity work with the poor.

It may be a little too late for Paris She thinks she is leading a meaningful life by being a socialite; partying at all the A list clubs, posing for the cameras and spending money on frivolous stuff (like lingerie for her dog). That’s her definition of leading a meaningful life. Humility and caring about people who aren’t as fortunate is instilled in people at an early age. Apparently, her parents and environment has not taught her those points of life, the life that most of the world lives in. Hopefully, her experience in jail has given her time to think about how she would like to make a difference in the world by finding or starting a cause she would like to give her time and money to. Hopefully it is not too late for Paris to try to turn her life around, of course, that’s after the big “out of jail” party her friends and family will give her!

Anything’s possible, but in Paris’ case it is highly unlikely…. she is too rich.

I beleive that it would be very difficult for someone who was brought up in her circumstances to know how to think that way. She doesnt perceive reality the same way that we do because all her life she has been raised with the beleife that she has enough money to not care. To tell you the truth i am jelous. i have had to work like a dog for the few posessions i have and life is only as hard as you make it for yourself ” unless you are born into it” although we hate her, we are no different from her as we are seen by people who are worse off than us, and you can quote me on that. I think in her particular situation it’s more the media and other celebs kissing her rear than it is her parents’ fault.. Her sister didn’t turn out half as self-centered as she did. She was just left to do whatever the hell she wanted for way too long and the public continued to encourage it (and it’ll probably stay that way, unfortunately).

Good interesting question.
I doubt Paris (or those like her) could ever be anything BUT vacant, shallow and self-absorbed.
She probably is incapable of being interesting, and nothing more than a media clothes horse.
I have no sympathy for her.
She will be cashing in on her time in prison anyway – what average offender will be doing that when they get of out jail?
No, I have no sympathy or care for her whatsoever.

The vacant, shallow people are the only ones that make headlines, but the good people certainly exist. I saw this movie once made by the heir to the Johnson and Johnson fortune called “The 1%” about the extremely wealthy America, it was at Tribeca, and he’s not much older than Paris. Bill Ayers, the son of the Chairman and CEO of Com-Ed, was a huge activist in the 60’s, starting the Weather underground, and is now a professor at UIC. There are certainly people brought up rich who lead meaningful lives, you just don’t see them in the headlines.
